Downtown has a new voice — and Tower Square is in the middle of it
This month, Garvey Communication Associates (GCAi) — publisher of the Tower Square Times — launched Metro Center Voice, a sister publication dedicated to championing the businesses at the heart of downtown Springfield. To celebrate the inaugural issue, Metro Center Voice is giving away a premium bottle of WhistlePig 10-Year “Snout to Tail” Bourbon — and the partner behind the prize is one of Tower Square’s own.
A Tower Square staple behind the prize
The bottle is hand-selected by Springfield Wine Exchange, the boutique wine and spirits shop that’s become a Tower Square staple. Owner Carlo Bonavita chose Tower Square years ago after watching the daily rhythm of the building — office workers, attorneys, and neighbors moving through at lunch and on their way home.
“I saw an opportunity to take advantage of the people who were here already,” he said, “and provide a service they don’t get anywhere else.” He’s done exactly that, building a shop known for hand-selected products, personal wine pairings, regular tastings, and curbside and office delivery — the kind of hands-on, old-school service that keeps downtown neighbors coming back.
What’s up for grabs
One winner will take home a bottle of WhistlePig 10-Year “Snout to Tail” Straight Bourbon Whiskey — 88 proof, barrel-toasted, 750ml — a coveted pour from one of New England’s most acclaimed distilleries, right in keeping with the boutique quality Springfield Wine Exchange is known for.
