Congratulations to Garvey Communication Associates, Inc. (GCAi)!
Just last month readers of the Daily Hampshire Gazette voted Garvey Communication Associates, Inc. (GCAi) “Best Marketing – Advertising Agency” in the 2016 Reader’s Choice poll!
GCAi is an innovative digital marketing agency and independent Google Certified Partner agency located at suite 2024 at Tower Square.
For several years, GCAi was the pro-bono agency of record for local startup accelerator Valley Venture Mentors and the GCAi Digital Marketing Team regularly presents and mentors entrepreneurs from around the world through the global accelerator MassChallenge.
For the GCAi, which also happens to be celebrating its 25th anniversary, the recognition is perfectly timed.
“The award certainly comes as a surprise and is a nice 25th anniversary present,” noted Mary Shea, Vice President of Digital Strategy at GCAi. “We have worked hard for years to introduce new digital marketing strategies to the market and our volunteer work with startups, here and around the world is unparalleled. We see the award as validation of both.”

The grant follows the MassMutual Foundation’s 10-year, $15 million contribution to UMass Amherst to further the university’s world-class data science and cybersecurity research and education programs, including the Trust Assurance & Cybersecurity Certificate (TACC) program at the UMass Center in Springfield.
The public is invited to learn about the TACC Program during an Open House and Information Session on Thursday, September 15th, 4:00-5:30pm at the UMass Center. Marriott’s Root Beer Float Day Nets Proceeds for
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Approximately one-hundred people stopped by suite 111 across from Champions at Tower Square last month to enjoy a refreshing root beer float courtesy of the folks from the Springfield Marriott. The Marriott, teaming up with Baystate Health, celebrated National Root Beer Float Day by giving away root beer floats to anyone who made a monetary donation to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The four-hour event raised $373.
According to Springfield Marriott General Manager Bill Hess, Marriott International has been a longtime supporter of the Children’s Miracle Network beginning in 1983. “Families have always come first at the Marriott, and therefore we are proud to support the Children’s Miracle Network through our Breakfast Buffet, Aquafina Water and Root Beer Float campaigns,” explained Hess.
By the way….Root Beer Float Day seems like something of a natural celebration for the folks at the Marriott. In 1927, founder J. Willard Marriott Sr, opened a nine-stool root beer stand that grew into the Hot Shoppes Restaurant chain, and then evolved into today’s Marriott International hotel company!
