Thanks to the compassion of downtown office workers and Tower Square patrons, the American Red Cross had one of their best turnouts during last month's blood drive. With 71 presenting donors, they were able to collect 67 pints of blood for use at area hospitals. That is almost double the number of donors American Red Cross officials had expected for January's blood drive.
The Dunkin' Donuts "Pound for a Pint" promotion, whereby donors were given a bag of Dunkin Donuts coffee after donating their blood, was apparently a huge hit, say blood drive organizers.
The American Red Cross' next blood drive at Tower Square is scheduled for Thursday, March 6 from 11am - 5pm in the Meeting Room.
