New Ink Cartridge Recycle Station Open at Tower Square

What do you do with your used ink cartridges?  Did you know that according to current statistics, only 5% of empty printer cartridges are being recycled leaving the remaining 95% of these items to be discarded in our already limited landfill sites?

These cartridges not only take up valuable space at the landfills, but they stay there for a very very long time.  Plastics, comprised of 2.5 ounces of oil, used in printer cartridges can take a thousand years to decompose.  When you take into consideration that one medium sized business can use between 900 1,600 ink cartridges per year, and one school can use 300 cartridges a year, you get the picture.  That's a lot of plastic taking up space in the landfills.

If you don't have a recycle program in place, and you want to do your part to protect the environment, then you might want to take advantage of the new Tower Square Ink Cartridge Recycle Station.  You can stop by the Ink Cartridge Drop Box next to the Post Office and across from the management office on the upper level, and discard your used cartridges.

Each time the drop box is full, Ink & Toner Solutions of Amherst, removes, recycles and refurbishes them to a "good as new" quality.

Not only will you be doing the environment a favor by recycling, but you can also purchase the refurbished cartridges for a 30% - 60% savings compared to buying new.

You can find out more at www.inksolutionsma.com

Big Brothers Big Sisters Donation Drop Off in Garage

The new Big Brothers Big Sisters donation box has arrived on C-level of the Tower Square garage.  For your convenience, you can now easily drive up to the drop box located at the tower elevator entrance and drop off your unwanted clothing, shoes, books, toys or jewelry.

Your donations will be sold at one of two local Savers thrift stores (located at Springfield Plaza and next to Bob's in West Springfield).  Proceeds from the sales of the donated items go directly to support Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Hampden County, a one-to-one mentoring program serving hundreds of children from Hampden County.
