WHAT'S HAPPENING IN MAY!

Tower Square Welcomes HOT TABLE As New Main Street Eatery!

It's Fast Casual dining at its best, and it's coming to Tower Square! Taking their queues from the hottest growth area in the restaurant biz, local brothers John & Chris DeVoie and restaurateur Don Watroba, teamed up to create HOT TABLE, their own brand of Fast Casual dining, and they are bringing it to Tower Square this summer!

The HOT TABLE team opened their original restaurant in Springfield's 16 Acres neighborhood in 2007, and has experienced great success there.  Hoping to grow upon that success they intend to open their second location at the former Gus & Paul's space at Tower Square's Main Street entrance.

"The location at Tower Square is the best piece of real estate in downtown Springfield, and we are really looking forward to opening there." explained HOT TABLE co-owner John DeVoie.

"We are very pleased that HOT TABLE is coming to Tower Square, and believe that the restaurant's new inviting atmosphere and fresh product line will be met with enthusiasm by our patrons," commented Fred Christensen, Tower Square Senior Property Manager.

A perfect cross between Panera Bread and Starbucks, HOT TABLE specializes in grilled Panini sandwiches that are made-to-order for each customer. (The chicken pesto Panini is one of their best sellers!  It's delish!)  They also offer fresh made-to-order salads, soups, desserts and a variety of specialty coffees. The Fast Casual style of service at HOT TABLE is designed to ensure that the diner has quick service and the freshest of ingredients.

Reflecting the atmosphere at their 16 Acres location, the Tower Square HOT TABLE will be warm and inviting, as preliminary floor plans call for a complete remodel of the former deli space.  The new restaurant will have a fireplace with a comfortable sitting area, an inviting dining area, and a small conference room for up to ten people.

Once HOT TABLE has the retail walk-in customer operation running smoothly at Tower Square, they intend to expand to offer phone-in orders, and then progress to providing catering services.

Also, not to miss a beat, HOT TABLE will serve fresh baked cookies, baked daily on site...an aroma that is sure to lure passersby!

For a glimpse at their menu (which will also be expanded in the weeks to come), log onto www.HotTable.com.

Hot Table President and co-owner John DeVoie (at podium) is joined by (from left to right) Tower Square Sr. Property Manager Fred Christensen, Springfield Mayor Dominic J. Sarno, Hot Table co-owners Don Watroba, and Christ DeVoie during a news conference last month to announce Hot Table's plans to open at Tower Square in the summer.

When the construction walls come down, the former empty deli space on Main Street
will be transformed into a warm inviting environment, including a comfortable seating
area complete with fireplace.

When it opens this summer, the Hot Table at Tower Square will look similar to the
restaurant in 16 Acres, and will offer the same delicious made to order Panini
sandwiches, variety of rich coffees and more

Prom Dress Donation Drop Off at NUVO Bank

Last year Springfield public schools considered canceling their high school prom celebrations because the ever increasing costs were making it prohibitive for some students to attend.  In an effort to help alleviate some of the expenses, the Springfield's Woman's Committee, an ad-hoc committee of the Springfield City Council, began collecting previously worn prom dresses to redistribute to local girls to wear to the prom.

This year the committee has joined forces with Nuvo Bank to bring the "Belle of the Ball" to downtown.  Nuvo Bank has agreed to be a drop off location for anyone wishing to donate formal wear to Belle of the Ball.

"Nuvo Bank supports the City of Springfield's efforts to afford our youth every opportunity to secure their future as adults, regardless of their financial situation," commented Sue Fearn, Nuvo Bank Client Relations Manager.  "The out pouring from the community has been truly amazing.Armloads of dresses and accessories have been arriving daily, some items still have the store tags on them!"

All formal wear is welcome, including shoes and accessories.  Dresses in all sizes and lengths are needed, and if possible, should be cleaned prior to donation.  Donations can be dropped off at Nuvo Bank located on Street Level at Tower Square weekdays from 8am 5pm.

Downtown's Administrative Professionals Honored

Those attending last month's Tower Square Administrative Professionals Day Luncheon left with smiles on their faces, not to mention gift cards to Hot Table in their hands, as well as bath and body products, chocolates, coupons for free haircuts, and raffle prizes galore.  A couple of lucky ladies even left sporting new hair styles courtesy of the DiGrigoli Salon stylists.

The event, featuring a high energy presentation by motivational speaker and salon owner Paul DiGrigoli, and lunch prepared by the chef of the Colony Club, is produced by the Tower Square management office each year .

Administrative Professionals from downtown Springfield and beyond enjoyed an
afternoon away from the office during last month's luncheon in their honor in the
Tower Square Meeting Room

Two lucky volunteers revealed their "new look" to luncheon attendees, after receiving
hair makeovers by stylists from DiGrigoli Salon.
