UNICEF Days Successful Thanks to Tower Square Patrons
Neighborhood Foods gave away free boxes of popcorn for UNICEF donations during UNICEF Days in the Citywalk Cafes last month.
Children from around the world will benefit from the proceeds raised during the two-day UNICEF Days event in Citywalk Cafes last month. Close to $800 was collected at the event, which was sponsored by Young & Peter Choi, owners of Neighborhood Foods.
UNICEF Days featured free popcorn for every UNICEF donation, as well as free massages and health screenings courtesy of the students from the Branford Hall Institute, and the musical performance was courtesy of vocalist Amy Mercier.
The Choi's would like to thank all of those who made a donation to UNICEF during the event, with a special mention of thanks to the folks at Robinson Donovan, PC, for their company donation of $250.
In addition the Choi's expect the total donation amount to increase by a few hundred dollars once they collect the UNICEF donation boxes distributed to Tower Square merchants in early October.
UNICEF is the United Nations Children's Fund, which has been advocating and helping children for more than 60 years, by providing clean water and sanitation for families, vaccinations, nourishment, AIDS care, as well as education for children in need around the world.
Students from the Branford Hall Institute offered free massages, glucose
& blood pressure screenings during last month's UNICEF fundraiser.
