Forest Park's Zoo on the Go booth was crawling with excitement and children and grown ups alike enjoyed hands on interaction with some unusual wildlife.

The Farmers Market at Tower Square Park was hopping with activity during last month's special Community Day event. Complete with a strolling marionette performer, a sensational live concert by Janet Ryan and Straight Up, popcorn, lemonade, free homemade salsa and fruit cups, the afternoon was well received by office workers and residents who came out for the event.
What seemed to be one of the favorite booths at the market on Community Day was Forest Park's Zoo on the Go. Complete with a fat-tailed Gecko, baby chicks, boa constrictor, chinchilla and more, the zoo's tent drew quite a crowd.
Several community organizations participated as well, including: Dunbar Community Center, DARE Family Services, Tapestry Health, and the UMASS Coop. Ext. Agency.
The Farmers Market runs every Friday through September from 10am - 3pm.
The Community Day activities as well as the Farmers Market and live concerts on Fridays are all sponsored by the Springfield Business Improvement District and Tower Square.
